For Softimage you can find some good tutorials on Digital Tutors, an online commercial site that provides with educational material for most of the 3d packages, Lightwave is the only one not listed, they actually don't know what will happen next since extinction is coming for Lightwave and Sotimage, but I would say Softimage will stay in the game for a while longer since NewTek isn't too certain how it will develop their next version. I'm considering Lightwave 3d 10, and follow on CORE as my new core to my workflow. Not tested yet with Rosetta 2, Is Apple silicon ready for LightWave 3D, Rosetta 2 support for LightWave 3D, LightWave 3D on M1 Macbook Air, LightWave 3D on M1 Macbook Pro, LightWave 3D on M1 Mac Mini, LightWave 3D on M1 iMac. Training support and integration with other programs (see GoZ for example) appear to be leaving XSI behind. I'm also fearful that Softimage has a limited lifecycle looking ahead.

I'd rather not upgrade to Softimage 2011 for both cost reasons and general principle on how autodesk has handled the takeover. Unity asset creation is my primary purpose for the package, so the integration pipeline is critical to my decision.

I've enjoyed the package, but current issues with the older licensing server and Windows 7 have me on the precipice of an upgrade. I currently do my modeling and animation work in an older version of Softimage XSI 7.01. I'm interested in the support communities insight on my modeler woes.
