Vermintide II is, in my opinion, the best use of the license out there. I’m a big fan of Age of Sigmar, and I don’t have any nostalgic ties to the Old World of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, but it really is a great setting for video games. The game was a bit of a mess when it was originally released, but today in 2021 it has turned into a very solid action RPG with a good story, tons of content, great loot with lots of ways to customize it, and some of the coolest enemies the 40k universe has to offer. Your weapons and armour are all very over the top and fit the 40k style perfectly. Martyr is a Diablo-like set in the Warhammer 40,000, and it’s a perfect match: You play as an Imperial Inquisitor (you can choose a number of different versions) and then click/button mash your way through the best of what the grimdark future has to offer: Nurgle Plague Marines, Drukhari wyches, swarms of Tyranid monsters – even Aeldari Howling Banshees make an appearance.
